Robert E. Harrill, The Fort Fisher Hermit, spent 17 years under the stars and scrub oaks of Fort Fisher, North Carolina. Surviving off the land and the contributions from thousands of visitors, he became one of the areas largest tourist attractions. Unfortuately Robert's new life wasn’t as idyllic as he made it out to be, and his untimely death is marked by mystery and controversy. Narrated by Barry Corbin, this film examines the reasons that led a man to become a hermit, his growing popularity and the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death.

Tells how in 1892 Alexander Henderson, later to be the first Lord Faringdon, financed the buiding of two luxury hotels, and a railway line from the port of Algeciras in Andulacia to the junction at Bobadilla, using a new company named the Algeciras Gibraltar Co Ltd, registerd in London in England. The line still operates today, and continues to be a tourist attraction, as are the two 4-star hotels, one at Algeciras, still having the same trees that were planted in 1892, and the other in Ronda, overlooking the finest of magnificent scenery.
